A spot I like

The spot I like on the way to the Chalets de Miage.

There is a high valley I really like. The trail to get there starts by a bridge over a stream, not so far from home, about 15 mn by car. In the beginning you will walk in a nice forest, the trail is a bit steep but nothing too hard, it is a good warm up. After an hour you will reach this hidden valley, literaly at the foot of the high mountains of our area. You are at about 1700m in altitude and the towering summits above your head are at 3800m or even 4000m (12000ft) in altitude. There is a hut and a couple of old farms as well as summer “chalets”. A stream coming down from the glaciers and cows during the summer.

Each time, on the way up and on the way down I stop for a few seconds, a few minutes, in a spot I really like. the view is so typical of our area, the meadow, the flowers, the high darks trees, the roof of a farm and the mountains, far away; this is the spot I like.
